Truth embodied

Expected in spring 2027

In Truth Embodied, I explore a concept of truth that reconnects science, spirituality, and embodied experience. It is a story that begins in education and places a livable Earth at the centre as an ethical horizon.

What is the book about?

The book Truth Embodied: A Proposal for a Livable Earth as an Ethical Horizon in Education is about “truth”. Not about a truth that can be captured in words, but about a truth that can be experienced — woven as we are, in body, soul and spirit, into the ethical order as the ground of existence.

Throughout history, philosophers have tried to express this truth in words. Most philosophers therefore assume that ‘truth’ is linguistic and theoretical: something that can be captured in statements, definitions, and models.

In this book, I explore a different starting point: a concept of truth that precedes language — truth is experienced before it is expressed in words.

How can you write about that?

If truth itself cannot be captured in words, how can we still speak about it?

To shape my argument, I “borrow” words from philosophers who assume that truth can, in fact, be formulated through language. Using their concepts, I write a story that simultaneously reveals where their approach falls short.

This creates a critical dialogue with the Western philosophical tradition — a tradition that has contributed to the exclusion of dissenting voices and to a dominant narrative about what knowledge, meaning, and truth are supposed to be.

In contrast, I propose a space of encounter: across the boundaries of disciplines, beliefs, and social bubbles.

What is the innovative perspective?

The book takes a critical perspective on modern science in the sense that it proceeds from:

  • a different concept of truth
  • a different concept of meaning
  • a different concept of knowledge

than those commonly found within modern science.

I offer an initial step towards a reorientation: not to reject science, but to reconnect it with its ethical and existential foundations.

Who is it for?

The book is written for anyone who feels that we have reached an impasse as a society and that a new orientation is needed.

In particular, it is intended for:

  • scientists, philosophers, and theologians
  • educators and others involved in education
  • people with an interest in spirituality
  • and anyone who reflects on the deeper questions of existence

Project status

The manuscript has been written with the intention of defending it as a PhD dissertation.

I warmly invite interested professors to enter into conversation about this work.

The book is expected in spring 2027.
