Bona Sustainability Study

Frederike de Jong, Duurzaamheidsonderzoek Bona (Bona Sustainability Study), 2025.

In this exploratory study, I map the ideas about sustainability in relation to education that are held by colleagues at the Bonaventura Lyceum in Leiden. Based on conversations with colleagues, the study brings to light a range of perspectives and initiatives in areas including school buildings and operations, pedagogy and teaching, curriculum, community, process, planetary citizenship, and vision. The report concludes with findings, recommendations, and proposals for further research and implementation. (64 pages)

The school administration has not granted permission for the study to be made freely available to the public.

In this earlier book, I describe, among other things, how ‘maps’ can be drawn of the philosophies of major philosophers.

I give you
a fruit from the tree of life.
Receive it as such
and eat of it, live by it,
and give others too
of the fruits
of the tree to eat.
So that we may live in a world of peace.
